Player Statement:
I am Jayden Borrero, a driven and disciplined multi-sport athlete from Lake Orion High School graduating in 2026. I have been a part of the Lake Orion Football program since 3rd grade, competed in Power Lifting in 9th and 10th grade, and Track and Field as a thrower starting in middle school. Being a part of both team and individual sports for so many years has taught me many lessons on how to be disciplined and set goals personally to be a better athlete and strive to be a positive role model to those around me. Being a student athlete has also helped drive me to excel in the classroom. I am currently holding a 3.98 GPA and have consistently challenged myself in multiple AP and Honors courses over the years. The challenges faced while balancing all of this, I feel, have set a great foundation for stepping into the next chapter at the college level. The hard work and success earned in sports and in the classroom have helped build the confidence and qualities needed to be a good leader. Helping to push others around me to succeed as well is very important to me. I was very proud to be voted in as one of the 2025 Track and Field Captains for the Throws team as a Junior. This heavily motivated me in all areas, and I was so grateful for the opportunity to further strengthen my leadership skills. I have learned that setting goals is an important part of growth and pushes me to be better. A few examples of this so far at the high school level that I am very proud of reaching are: •Earning my varsity athletic letter as a Freshman for Power Lifting •Playing in my first varsity game during playoffs as a sophomore at a D1 High School •Being named starting running back my Junior Year •Breaking the Discus records in my grade level every year, my 9th, 10th, and 11th grade seasons •Breaking the over 30-year-old Lake Orion High School overall discus throws record as a Junior •Competing in the Junior Olympics National Championships as a discus thrower the summer before my Junior year and making it to the finals at Texas A&M I am very excited to bring my skills, determination, and leadership to a college team and help them achieve success. My goals are to excel as both a student, athlete, and as a person, contributing to my team’s victories with the highest of sportsmanship and academic excellence, and to the community and world around me. I am very proud of the foundation I have built this far and am looking forward to what I can accomplish in the future.
